How can I treat my nail psoriasis?

My left index fingernail is getting worse and worse as the weeks go by, it’s overwhelmingly obvious that there’s something wrong with it to other people. I have a few other nails on both my hands and feet that have nail psoriasis as well.

How can I treat it? I don’t get to see a doctor until I return home in a bit over 2 weeks, but even still it’s tough to get a dermatologist. I have topical cream for skin…but I can’t exactly get THAT in my nail…can I?

Ways of how to treat psoriasis

Psoriasis is a disease that affects the skin and joints. It is chronic and it affects the sufferer’s life in more ways than one. In order to put it as plainly as one can, it is a disorder that causes too much skin to grow on your body in certain areas or over the entire body, with a red scaly aspect. It is unpleasant to look at, and people often think the worst of someone with this disease.

Contrary to general opinion and the tendency of those around to keep away from the sufferers, the disease is not contagious. What exactly triggers this ailment has not yet been pin-pointed, yet some beliefs have been emphasized on, but there are some factors that are sure to make things worse. These are stress, smoking, drinking excessively and others.

When you are searching for solutions on how to treat psoriasis, the first thing you do is visit a doctor. This is where all the options you have for psoriasis treatment are laid out in front of you. Every solution depends on a number of factors, because usually every individual responds to a treatment differently. Here are some of the options that will be presented to you.

The most common way of how to treat psoriasis is with creams and various ointments. This implies the application of these products directly onto the skin in order to reduce the effects of the disease. This method however has a few potential drawbacks.

Since there are still many unknown aspects on how to treat psoriasis, doctors need to submit their patients to a trial-and-error process. You need to test several psoriasis treatment moisturizers, creams and ointments that contain various beneficial ingredients.

Another drawback about these psoriasis treatment options that doctors have to offer is that they can interfere with your daily activities. Some have nasty odors, others can stain your clothes, and others may look weird. Each of these things affects the normal ongoing of your life.

Another psoriasis treatment involves sunlight. The actual process and how the benefits are obtained is still unknown, but the truth of the matter is that exposing the parts of the skin affected by this disease to ultraviolet light can help you get better.

Another option doctors provide on how to treat psoriasis is through medication, administered either orally with pills, or through injections. This is not a fun method to try, because I for one am not fond of pills and I run from needles as if I see a tiger in front of me.

There are lots of situations where two methods can be combined for a better and more effective psoriasis treatment. Be that as it may, the last two methods mentioned can be quite expensive and they might not present the results you were hoping for.

Because of this you should find a cream that provides quick results without any of the drawbacks. This can be found in Platysol, a cream that uses only natural ingredients to solve your problems, without staining your clothes, emanating nasty odors or looking weird on your skin.

The choices you make of how to treat psoriasis will affect you on different levels. The best psoriasis treatment is the one that provides noticeable results, which doesn?t cost you everything and with no side-effects. You can find this in Platysol.

Examples of such drugs are cyclosporine, hydroxyurea, methotrexate, retinoids, and biologics. While there is a wide range of medications to choose from, a lot of patients are now considering natural approaches such as the acai berry. Soap Nuts To Treat Eczema & Psoriasis

Soap nuts have a long history when it comes to treating skin conditions such as eliminating freckles, erasing fine lines, and ridding cracks in the skin. Soap nuts have been used for generations in India to treat eczema and psoriasis effectively and in the past few decades have been used in Europe with very positive results. The best thing about using soap nuts is that they are safe and effective for people that are allergic to even the mildest form of astringents or cleansers that are purchased in the stores. In most cases, even the cleansers that are labeled allergy free or for sensitive skin can be damaging to sufferers of eczema and psoriasis. Soap nuts have also been used in the United States for people who have been diagnosed with these skin conditions.

Soap Nuts for Eczema?
It has always been recommended that people with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis should not use any type of cleansers on their skin. This is almost impossible considering that cleansers are in just about everything that is used commonly around the household and it is said that people who suffer from these types of skin conditions should try to avoid anything labeled as a detergent or soap. Soap nuts are among the list of herbs and minerals in Ayurvedic shampoos and cleansers and they are used in Ayurvedic medicine as a treatment for eczema and psoriasis. Eczema affects both males and females alike and age is not a factor. Common symptoms of mild eczema can include dry, hot and itchy skin but more severe forms of the condition can result in the skin becoming raw, broken and bleeding.

Helping Eczema & Psoriasis
Rather than having to resort to prescription medicine to treat your eczema and psoriasis, first try ground soap nut husks as they provide a totally natural chemical free detergent for treatment. Soap nuts are recommended for babies and for people who develop allergies to conventional washing products, as they contain no allergenic substances. This is extremely important for those who suffer from skin disorders because many times the clothes that are being washed can trigger the skin condition and cause it to worsen. Soap nuts are all natural and have no smell to them which is the main reason that they are so successful in ridding skin disorders and preventing future outbreaks.

Soap Nut Studies
Many studies have proven that some people who have eczema have had their problems diminish after switching to soap nuts as a laundry detergent and as a skin cleanser. Soap nuts lead to stable soapy foam when they come in contact with water. Saponin’s can replace conventional chemical detergents such as sodium laureth sulphate that are becoming increasingly unacceptable to the consumer due to fears concerning the safety of the chemical. Naturally occurring, Saponin’s provide the foaming agent necessary in shampoo or shower gel that are gentler on the body and more environmentally friendly. According to Professor C. Kamaswara Rao of the Department of Forests Environment and Ecology of the Government of Karnataka, the biggest environmental benefits of the soap nuts in conjunction with prevention and elimination of skin conditions is through its anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties.

        How To Safely Treat Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a condition in which our skin is replicating too fast and it grows over itself, layer by layer. The cause of the psoriasis condition is not well understood and there is no FDA approved cure yet, however there are several good natural skin care products that work well in relieving symptoms and controlling scaling and flaking.

Psoriasis is embarrassing, to say the least. The active ingredient in these psoriasis creams is salicylic acid, a mild acid which causes our psoriasis to actually exfoliate and break down, allowing the beautiful skin that’s underneath to emerge. Besides the cost advantage, natural remedies are not toxic.

What are some of the home cures that have worked for people who have suffered from psoriasis? One effective natural home remedy for psoriasis is a wet wrap. Keeping the body hydrated is one of the natural remedies for psoriasis that should never be overlooked. Keeping plenty of fluid in your body will help prevent dry skin.

Bathing is essential to psoriasis sufferers. Long baths or showers rob your skin of oils. Use only natural, unscented soaps.

Be quick to apply a natural moisturizing lotion while your skin is still damp. Psoriasis remedies are easily found in folk wisdom and in grandmother’s kitchen cupboards. The psoriasis remedies that they offer are rooted in a gentler understanding of how the body works. Other kitchen ingredients that are useful psoriasis remedies are to be used on the skin.

Apply a paste of oatmeal in warm water to your skin before a bath. This particular disease is not a skin disorder, although it does affect the skin. This article looks at the causes and latest treatments of psoriasis to help people better deal with it.

What is psoriasis? Psoriasis does not discriminate! The severity of psoriasis is measured by a system called PASI, or psoriasis area and severity index which is based on the skin area affected and the level of inflammation and redness present.

        Is psoriasis contagious?

How can I find a psoriasis treatment? Coal tar ointment can be effective but is messy and can cause skin irritation.

Some people find that moisturizing the skin can bring relief.

Exposure to sunlight or ultra violet A rays (UVA) is one of the latest treatments of psoriasis, but the side effects can be skin cancer and premature wrinkling of the skin.

Is there anything that’s safe to use to treat psoriasis? Treat the body from within and use a natural anti itching cream or lotion on the skin itself. Psoriasis is a skin condition where the skin becomes very dry, peeling, rough, thick and cracked.

Some people suffer from psoriasis on their backs, where sweat is trapped and the skin condition worsens. Although natural soap is not your miracle cure, it can help to soothe your skin and hydrate it the natural way with vegetable oils, which is able to retain the moisture of your skin while allowing your skin to breathe and heal naturally.

Handmade natural soap is very different from the regular commercial soaps found in supermarkets. In handmade natural soap, vegetable oil from plants and herbs is used. Vegetable oil can help the skin to retain moisture on the skin while allowing the skin to breathe, detoxify and absorb moisture from the air.

Handmade natural soap creates a natural protective barrier for your skin against environmental stresses such as ultraviolet rays from the sun, pollution, cold and dry air.
